Test Code LAB147 ANA
Reporting Title
ANA
Antinuclear Antibody (ANA), Hep-2-Substrate, Serum ANA
Methodology
Inova Diagnostics Inc, Immunofluorescence Assay (IFA)
The detection and semiquantitation of autoantibodies aid in the diagnosis of autoimmune diseases. A positive ANA result usually occurs in a number of autoimmune disorders such as systemic lupus erythematous, mixed connective tissue disease, rheumatoid arthritis, Sjögren’s syndrome, and progressive systemic sclerosis. However, the incidence of low titer ANA positives increases with age in normal individuals.
Note: Order this test if a Centromere Ab is ordered.
