DiaSorin LIAISON®, Chemiluminescence Immunoassay
Qualitative results of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) antibodies aid in the diagnosis of infectious mononucleosis. The presence of VCA IgG antibodies indicate a past infection with EBV. Over 90% of the normal adult population have antibodies to VCA IgG.

Specimen Requirements
Draw blood in a gold-top serum gel tube(s). (Contaminated, hemolyzed, or icteric specimen is not acceptable.) Spin down and send 1 mL of serum refrigerated.
Note: A speckled-top serum gel tube (s) or a plain, red-top tube(s) is also acceptable.
