Specimen Requirements

Specimen must arrive within 48 hours of draw.

 

Draw blood in a lavender-top (EDTA) tube(s), and send EDTA whole blood. Mix gently by inverting 8 times. Do not centrifuge. Forward unprocessed whole blood promptly at ambient temperature. If there is a delay in transport, send specimen refrigerated.

Note:  Specimen may be refrigerated for up to 48 hours if unable to process immediately.
