Used for nonspecific activity of infections, inflammatory states, autoimmune disorders, and plasma cell dyscrasias.

Specimen Requirements
Ambient specimen must be tested within 4 hours of collection and refrigerated specimen must be tested within 12 hours of collection.
For Riverside, Grove City, Marion, Grant, Mansfield, Shelby, Grady, Hardin, Berger, Doctor's, Pickerington, WECC and O'Bleness Laboratories running automated iSED technology:
Ambient and refrigerated specimens must be tested with 24 hours of collection.
Draw blood in a lavender-top (EDTA) tube(s), and send EDTA whole blood. Mix by gently inverting 8 times. Forward unprocessed whole blood (minimum volume: 2.5 mL in a 5-mL tube).
