General Information:

Useful for assessing early onset of nephropathy in diabetic patients.

Specimen Requirements

Minimum of 2.0 mL of urine from a first morning random urine collection in a 10 mL BD yellow-top round bottom urine tube or a screw-capped, sterile, plastic urine container. 

 

No preservative. (Please note: BD Preservative Urinalysis Tube is acceptable at RMH Special Testing)

 

DO NOT SEND THE BLUE CAPPED INTEGRATED TRANSFER DEVISE COLLECTION CONTAINER. THEY OFTEN LEAK AND HAVE A METAL NEEDLE ATTACHED WHICH PRESENTS A SAFETY ISSUE.
