Methodology
The presence of Mycoplasma IgG antibody generally indicates past exposure to Mycoplasma pneumoniae. The presence of a positive Mycoplasma IgG, with a positive Mycoplasma IgM, indicates a current Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection.

Specimen Requirements
Draw blood in a gold-top or a speckled-top serum gel tube(s). (Hemolyzed specimen is not acceptable.) Spin down and send 1 mL of serum refrigerated.
Note: Plain, red-top tube(s) is also acceptable.
