Test Code LAB66 Creatinine, Plasma or Serum
Reporting Title
Creatinine
Methodology
These methods have been standardized against ID-MS.
Roche Diagnostics, Jaffe Kinetic Alkaline Picrate at RMH, GMC, DH, DMH, GMH, WECC, PMC, DHC, GCMH, BH, OBH, MGH, HMH, SH
Note: Hemoglobin F interferes with this method. We recommend that a whole blood creatinine be run on infants through the first year of life.
Creatinine is normally excreted by glomerular filtration. It is useful in diagnosing and monitoring acute and chronic renal disease and in monitoring dialysis.
