Specimen Requirements

Specimen must arrive and be processed within 8 hours of collection.

 

1. Cleanse stopper of 1.5-mL IsolatorTM tube with 70% alcohol and allow to dry.

 

2. Aseptically transfer bone marrow into IsolatorTM tube.

 

3. Label container with patient’s name (first and last), MR# or DOB, date and actual time of collection, and type of specimen.

 

4. Maintain sterility and forward promptly at ambient temperature only.

 

Note: Specimen source is required on request form for processing.
